“Not Me, But You” — Fostering social responsibility, community leadership, and legal advocacy among future legal professionals.
Unit Leadership
Mr. Abdul Ashik Rawthah (Asst. Professor)
Established at the institute level, the Al-Ameen College of Law NSS Unit works rigorously to instill a deep-seated spirit of social service among young law students, transforming academic knowledge into real-world civic contribution.
Core Pillars of Action
The unit systematically channels student talent into concrete societal welfare programs across critical development sectors:
| Focus Area | Core Objectives & Mission | Key Initiatives Conducted |
|---|---|---|
| Legal Aid & Advocacy | Bridging the gap between marginalized communities and basic constitutional rights. | Free legal consultation clinics, street plays addressing social evils, and community litigation awareness drives. |
| Public Health & Wellness | Promoting preventative healthcare, gender-focused wellness awareness, and basic clinical access. | Breast Cancer Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Naari Foundation; free medical check-ups and medicine distribution. |
| Environmental Action | Advocating for sustainable local ecosystems and public area cleanliness. | Lalbagh Cleaning Campaign and intensive tree plantation programs aimed at fostering local urban biodiversity. |
| Community Upliftment | Providing sustainable development interventions in both rural and urban poor sectors. | The Slum Adoption Project (focusing on primary education support for youth) and localized village adoption networks. |
Special Residential Camping
Special camping forms an integral pillar of the NSS architecture. It offers student volunteers unique opportunities for group living, collective experience sharing, and intense, uninterrupted community interaction.
Spotlight Focus: Dargajogihalli Village Camp
The NSS unit of Al-Ameen College of Law successfully organized a comprehensive special residential camp in our adopted village, Dargajogihalli (Doddaballapura Taluk).
During this immersive camp, volunteers actively led deep-impact social programs, including:
- Targeted community legal literacy and consultations
- Strategic street plays emphasizing awareness surrounding female foeticide
- Village health, hygiene assessment camps, and free medicine drives
- Mass tree plantation and neighborhood campus cleaning drives promoting communal harmony
